|Flow Control For Metering
The 275 series flow controls, with specific orifices, lend them selves ideally for precision metering applications. The unique patented design for varying flow area establishes a desired condition when compared with needle type metering apparatus.
The flow area cross section is a 90° x 45° x 45° triangle. In needle valves, restriction is accomplished by the circumferential relation between the needle and orifice hole.
Extreme concentricity is required in such valves when used in fine metering applications.
Variance of flow area is as described below.
A variety of orifice "cuts" can be provided to accommodate most any desired range of flow rates.

"Scale" enables resetting for positive, accurate flow control. Offers

The curves were obtained with a pressure drop of 35 PSI across the valve with flow in the controlled direction.
With a pressure drop of 15 PSI across the valve in the free flow direction,
the following flow rates were obtained regardless of valve setting: 5.5 cubic
ft. free air per minute; 3.5 gallons of liquid per minute.
